“Aren’t you gorgeous!” exclaims Gal Gadot as I enter her suite at Soho House Berlin. “And I think I have your shoes!” This is not how celebrity interviews typically commence. Because (a) Gadot is the truly gorgeous one in this equation; and (b) there’s no way the future Wonder Woman and current face of Gucci’s latest scent, Bamboo, still shops at Zara, is there? (As it turns out, she does. Just like us.)

It’s the day after Bamboo’s swish media launch, which featured Gadot both in the flesh (or, to be more specific, in a cerise floor-length Gucci gown with a stunningly deep V) and on film, via a black-and-white short for the scent shot by Mert and Marcus. On loop: Gadot driving a vintage Mercedes, fencing, waltzing and playing the piano in the buff—as one does.

“Of course,” Gadot jokes, when I ask if nude piano playing figures into her off-screen life. The 30-year-old is a wife, a mom (to three-year-old Alma), a model (she also fronts Castro, one of Israel’s biggest retail brands) and an actress in the process of hurtling from hey-she-looks-sorta-familiar fame to Legit Movie Star status. Best known for playing Gisele in The Fast and the Furious, she’ll break out of the action-film-bombshell box with meatier roles early next year, alongside Ryan Reynolds in Criminal and Kate Winslet in Triple 9. Her biggest coup to date? Playing a metallic-bodysuit-clad Wonder Woman in four DC Comics mega-productions—kicking off with 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

The time is right to add high-fashion fragrance spokesperson to her CV. Gucci Bamboo is an olfactory riff on the burnished bamboo handles that appear on the house’s iconic bags: crunchy greens (pear, bergamot) and exotic florals (ylang-ylang, lily), de-girlified by a certain leathery vanilla, musky amber and sandalwood. The end result is as babely—and as badass—as Gadot herself.

Yes, she’s a total smoke show who grew up coveting her mom’s Gucci handbags, but Gadot is also a tomboy who danced and played tennis, basketball, volleyball and dodge ball as a kid growing up in Rosh HaAyin. “I broke all of my fingers so many times,” she says. After high school, she served the mandatory two-year term with the Israeli army, did a stint in law school and, in 2004, peaked on the pageant circuit as Miss Israel.

So, basically, she’s a superhero in real life, too. Yet, as evidenced by all the #friendship #girls #fun hashtags on her Insta, Gadot finds her own inspiration in everyday womanhood. “I don’t have a specific female icon I admire, but I have lots of girlfriends I love and adore who are very good mothers, very ambitious, very intelligent and very sophisticated,” she says. “I feel like every woman nowadays is Wonder Woman.”
